Luceplan lights up the Skyway, the new Mont Blanc cableway

Luceplan lights up the Skyway, the new Mont Blanc cableway

A new major project for Luceplan, always a protagonist in important worldwide achievements for international contract: Skyway, the new Mont Blanc cableway at Courmayeur, opened at the end of June, and has already been hailed as the “8th wonder of the world.”

Designed by the architect Carlo Cillara Rossi and inspired by ice crystals, the structure takes visitors to an altitude of 3466 meters, offering an incredible panoramic view of Mont Blanc once seen only by climbers. Aluminium, steel and glass are the protagonists of this construction, high-performance materials capable of limiting energy dispersion and guaranteeing an almost completely transparent enclosure, in constant dialogue with the landscape.

In keeping with this philosophy of harmonious interaction between technology and the environment, the choice of lighting goes to Silenzio, the lamp created by Monica Armani for Luceplan. Luminous suspensions in which the quality of the light is combined with sound absorbing properties and the beauty of Kvadrat fabrics. Not just acoustic comfort, but also great decor impact, bringing character to spaces while setting their mood.

Once again, Luceplan confirms its ability to offer versatile solutions to meet the widest range of requirements: in tune with this unique context, the Silenzio lamps contribute to make the facility quiet and peaceful, accompanying and discreetly amplifying the magic and majesty of the mountain setting.
