Centro Studi Andrea Palladio

Project overview

The Palace Barbaran da Porto is the center of the international research foundation of architecture Andrea Palladio. The building, designed by Palladio on the 16th century, hosts at the piano nobile a library and a center of analysis and research. The lighting project had to compare with the original spaces made by Palladio. The Lightdisc lamps suspended as pure forms in the space, float in mid air like lighting spots thus solving the general illumination. The role of task lighting has been committed to Fortebraccio lamps, whose presence can easily combine with the context without being a discordant presence. The lamps reveal their utility, the rationality of their presence
