Milano Design Week 2026: between heritage and experimentation

Luceplan takes part in the circuit of the Milano Design Week with its flagshipstore on Corso Monforte, spotlighting new creations as it does each year. For 2026 – together with new finishes for three products in the catalogue – visitors can see new decorative lighting projects by designers of the new generation of Luceplan: Zsuzsanna Horvath and Marco Spatti.

Design Week is also an ideal opportunity for a tribute to Costanza by Paolo Rizzatto, which reaches its 40th anniversary, offering three new interpretations of the iconic white shade.

NOVELTIES

The Luceplan flagship store at Corso Monforte 7 continues as an indispensable event for the discovery of the latest innovations in products for the lighting sector.

The innovation addresses multiple aspects – of concept, materials and design – that intertwine within the main new products on display

NYTT by Marco Spatti

Marco Spatti creates a new project for Luceplan: the Nyttcollection, interpreted in floor, table and ceiling/wall versions.Nytt plays with an unusual relationship between the structureand the light source. The brilliant intuition consists ofsubverting the traditional proportions: the structure is reducedto an extremely slender element, almost “micro-architecture,”light and discreet, unlike the source which takes on adominant presence. This reversal generates an unexpectedbalance and an elegant, essential composition

Typology: floor, table, ceiling, wall

Finishes: black, gold

Materials: aluminium and steel structure, technopolymer diffuser

UPGRADES

The upgrades include new finishes for Koinè (3) and Hono (2) by Mandalaki. Three new metallized finishes have also been developed to expand the color range of Compendium by Daniel Rybakken.

In line with the existing catalog offerings, the Hono family by Mandalaki—originally presented in a matte black finish—is now updated with the introduction of Alu and Brass finishes, maintaining its versatility and elegance

Three new bold, vibrant finishes expand the colorpalette of Compendium by Daniel Rybakken: Metal Blue, Dark Metal Bronze, and Dark Metal Green. The electromechanical joint, now available for the suspension version, becomes an integral part of the lamp’s design, ensuring electrical continuity and a linear formal solution for up to three fixture.

Among the updates, the new finishes for Koinè suspension by Mandalaki— Lava Red, Light Sand, and Lattementa—reinterpret the existing range with even more refined and inviting color choices.

HERITAGE

COSTANZA TURNS 40

For the 40th anniversary of Costanza, the lamp designed in 1986 by Paolo Rizzatto, Luceplan presents three new shades with special patterns, a project that renews the identity of this icon without altering its lightness and formal balance.

With the new shades, Luceplan continues this exploration: the shade becomes a graphic surface capable of interacting with light and generating constantly different atmospheres, while conserving the archetypal essence that has made Costanza a versatile presence in contemporary living spaces.
